      The 18th century lasted from January 1, to Decem During the 18th century, elements of Enlightenment thinking culminated in the American, French, and Haitian age saw violent slave trading and human trafficking on a global scale. The reactions against monarchical and aristocratic power helped fuel the revolutionary responses against it throughout the ies: 17th century, 18th century, 19th century. The world of writing in the eighteenth century was a world in flux, a time of transition when the nature of writers, writing, publishing and reading changed beyond recognition over the course of a century. Some of the biggest changes to occur in this period are things that we now take for granted. This makes it hard in some ways to see what.

      The editors invite contributions on all aspects of the eighteenth century. Essays employing interdisciplinary perspectives or addressing contemporary theoretical and cultural concerns relating to the eighteenth century are especially encouraged.
